March is upon us already! I always forget that February only has 28 days in it (well, sometimes 29. But only 28 this year. But you guys already knew that. Now I’m just rambling) so March always sneaks up on me.
So who’s ready for the new Photo a Day challenge list? I am, I am!!
This is a day early. Unless you live on the other side of the world, in which case I’m right on time.
For those who have been participating and sharing on instagram with the hashtag #hiyapapayaphotoaday, we have had so much fun looking through your images. For those of you new to this, here’s how it works: Each day there will be a new theme. Interpret the word or theme however you’d like. You don’t have to have a fancy camera to do this project. I use my iphone. It’s just a chance to get everyone out taking pictures!
You can post and share your image wherever you’d like – your Facebook page, your blog, Twitter, Instagram, etc. If you do post them to Instagram with your iphone or ipad, be sure to tag them #hiyapapayaphotoaday. That way others can go look and see your photos! Don’t stress if you miss a day or two (or ten) – the point of this is to have FUN! Just try and jump back in as soon as you can.
I can’t wait to see what you all come up with during this “lucky month!” Now let’s all go get snappin’! XOXO

The bright colors really make this fun room “pop.” Keeps it from being too formal for a young and fun family.

It really is all in the details. And these details are stunning!

One word: KITCHEN!!!
The combinations of blues in this space are a coastal lover’s dream come true!
I love a great pot filler on a fantastic back splash!

Right off the kitchen is what the homeowners call a “project room.” It’s a place for the kids to do art projects and homework. I think it’s brilliant. And close to the main family area – what a great location! And a super fun space – complete with a little utility sink for washing art brushes. They thought of everything!

You can’t see it, but immediately to the left of the cork/pin board there is also a white board wall. Like I said – they thought of everything!

The nursery and adjoining nursery bath are darling!

I love a big, spacious laundry room. One of my favorite features here is the floor – it’s actually ceramic tiles that are made to look like hardwood. Genius!

Absolutely fantastic reading nook upstairs! I mean – why not?
These colorful blown glass plates on the wall were another huge “hit” with parade goers.

The kids are really into reading. So this is such a fun spot to have tucked away by a window upstairs. I can imagine reading a book there and being transported to another place!
A serene master retreat

I am kind of in love with their stand alone tub.
The rest of the home is so colorful that it’s really nice to have this calming master suite to “escape” to and relax.

I’d say the most “popular” space in the home – at least with the little ones – (and okay, with the big kids, too) is the slide. It runs all the way from the play area upstairs to the mud room on the main floor. GENIUS! So if the kids are playing, and you need to go get in the car in the garage, you can just have them “slide on down!” Also, the mud room is right next to the kitchen, so if you need to call them down for dinner, BAM! Who thinks of these things?! Jeremy the builder (and homeowner) is a big kid at heart, I tell ya! So smart! (It was only plexi-glassed off like this during the Parade of Homes. We’ve all been down it and it’s FUN-ER-OO!)
Oh! And aren’t the wooden shingles and stone such a cute idea for the inside play area? Makes it look like a little “house” for the kids. It’s right outside their bedrooms upstairs. Super fun for them. Here you can see where the slide comes out in the mudroom.

I love the chevron shower curtain and the gray, white and mustard combo of the kids bathroom.
Their little girls room almost made me cry when I walked in it for the first time because 1) the color combo is to DIE for 2) I’m just a little girl in a grown woman’s body and 3) I thought, “I need a daughter!” (Currently I have two boys.)

LOVE the eiffel tower magnet board. Adorable!

Their 7 year old son is an amazing artist and they wanted to feature his artwork around his bedroom. So they came up with the idea of putting a stripe of cork board around the room to hang his paintings. Isn’t that great?! I also LOVE his closet. It’s a “hidden bookshelf” in the top right corner. SO fun for a little boy!
