Hiya Papaya Photo a Day Challenge – FEBRUARY

Wow, can you guys believe that an entire MONTH of 2013 is already behind us?! I can’t believe how fast time goes by. Does that mean I’m getting older? ;)

The Photo a Day project has been a GREAT way for me to capture and document/journal my every day life through pictures. I even got them printed into a book for the months of November (our first challenge) and December. And I plan on printing January’s too. It makes me feel good because I feel like I’m journaling (which I am admittedly not the best at with paper and pen) – but in a fun way that I enjoy – through pictures!

Are you ready for FEBRUARY’S challenge list? This is a couple of days early, but it will give you some time to start thinking (if you’re a plan-ahead-type).

For those who have been participating and sharing on instagram with the hashtag #hiyapapayaphotoaday, we have had so much fun looking through your images. For those of you new to this, here’s how it works: Each day there will be a new theme. Interpret the word or theme however you’d like. You don’t have to have a fancy camera to do this project. I use my iphone. It’s just a chance to get everyone out taking pictures!

You can post and share your image wherever you’d like – your Facebook page, your blog, Twitter, Instagram, etc. If you do post them to Instagram with your iphone or ipad, be sure to tag them #hiyapapayaphotoaday. That way others can go look and see your photos! (Through this project, I have come to LOVE Instagram! It’s been SO MUCH FUN seeing everyone’s #hiyapapayaphotoaday hashtagged posts there! I’ve even made a couple of new friends!) Don’t stress if you miss a day – the point of this is to have FUN! Just try and jump in the next day.

This isn’t a contest. Just a fun way to get everyone out and capturing their world. It’s so fun and makes you more aware and really stretches your creative imagination.

I can’t wait to see what you all come up with during this “month of love!” XOXO

Rocky Mountain Fight Championships

I photographed another RMFC event in Vernal, hosted by MMA fighter, Blake Sprouse and his wife–and one of my longtime best friends–Brooke. Along with operating a successful insurance agency (Sprouse Insurance) they host these RMFC fights a few times a year. This time I was stationed on the ladder above the rink for a few of the fights and, boy, there’s nothing like being so close to the action you risk getting sweat & blood splattered on you. Congratulations to fight champion Salvador Sanchez who defeated Luke Stradinger in the first round. (See remaining results below.)

Aaron Bocook VS Quin Richens – Bocook via knockout 2nd round. Alexzander Brown VS Dave Stoddard – Brown via retirement (finished the 2nd round). Fred Bullets VS Brian Smith – Bullets via tap out neck crank 1st round. Michael Dillard VS Joshua Richards – Richards via ref stoppage due to strikes 1st round. Luis Quintero VS Andrew Shiozaki – Quintero via ref stoppage TKO end of 1st round. Augustin Espinoza VS Odin Meacham – Meacham via ref stoppage TKO 1st round. Fransisco Alcantara VS Carl Dieckmann – Dieckmann via tap out arm bar 1st round. Salvador Sanchez VS Luke Stradinger – Sanchez via ref stoppage due to strikes 1st round.

Hiya Papaya Photo a Day Challenge – January

We have had so much fun since starting the Hiya Papaya Photo a Day Challenge in November! We’ve decided to try and keep this going every month. And what better time to start participating in it than the BRAND NEW YEAR, right?! HAPPY NEW YEAR, everyone! Welcome 2013!!

Okay, so here’s how this works: Each day there will be a new theme. Interpret the word or theme however you’d like. You don’t have to have a fancy camera to do this project. I use my iphone. It’s just a chance to get everyone out taking pictures!
