YOUR Nature/Landscape Images – Finalists and WINNER!

WOW! You guys sure don’t disappoint! We got some STELLAR nature and landscape images entered into our second photography assignment. Seriously, I feel like I was able to “travel the world” via YOUR photos!! Well done!!

Without further ado, may we present to you, in no particular order, the finalists and winner (and a little bit about why we chose each one):

By: Joeen Hill

This image took my breath away when I saw it.  The colors, the warmth, the perfect processing.  Sigh.  I honestly feel like I am there.  STUNNING!

______

By: Elizabeth Spencer

Absolutely AMAZING!! And what makes it better?  It was taken with the photographer’s iPhone!  (LOVE a great cell phone shot!!)  The colors and tones here are fantastic.  This image sets a MOOD that I love.

______

By: Carrie Cox

I had to include this one because the photographer said that they were actually three separate images, merged together in Photoshop to create one large panoramic.  Nicely done!

______

By: Jenn Gray

I love the simplicity and beauty of this shot. Taken in Glacier National Park.  I love the boat, the crystal clear waters and the reflection.  Lovely!

______

By: Sarah Coppola

I love, love, LOVE this image!  The post-processing she did to it is absolutely fantastic! Can’t say much more about it than that.  It speaks for itself!

______

By: Kierra Burns

Oooh! Can you say moody?  Love that she did this in B&W.  As the photographer mentioned, it looks very other-worldly.   Taken in Yellowstone near Dragon’s Mouth Cave.

______

By: Lindsey Redfern

Carmel and Pebble Beach.  I LOVE the colors in this one.  So soothing and beachy! And I love the little family shown in the right – adds scale/perspective and makes it come to life.

______

By: Maryn Pipkin

Love, love, love, love LOVE!! Another cell phone shot that is absolutely incredible!  The colors and composition of this are SO artistic!! Thinking out of the box and I LIKE it. I like it a lot.

______

By: Yadira Budd

Balanced Rock in Arches National Park.  I love how she framed this and how the monument seems to be “peeking” out from behind the bushes.

______

By: Rachel Edgington

Love the light and softness and composition and colors. I feel like I stepped into a fairytale – or something out of Harry Potter!  Taken near Joplin, MO.

______

By: Kylie Keppler

I love the rich saturation of colors in this shot.  And the gorgeous reflection.  It feels like it was taken on film and then scanned.  I don’t know if that’s the case, but I love the feel.  Paulina Peak, OR.

AAAANNNNNND…

this week’s STUNNING winner

(and by stunning, I mean absolutely, take your breath away, I want to be there RIGHT now, this leaves me utterly speechless STUNNING…)

By: Lee Accomando

Need I say ANYTHING about this picture?  As one commenter on our Facebook page wrote: “WOW! Just … wow…” I think that’s ‘nough said. :)

Again – thank you to ALL who participated and especially to the fantastic finalists and winner!  And everyone, stay tuned for future photography assignment themes and contests.  I am having way too much fun with this (and being completely inspired by your images!).

New Hiya Papaya Photo Assignment: NATURE/LANDSCAPES

I have chosen vacation destinations based solely on amazing landscape photography!) Here are a few that we’ve taken that we like (perhaps these aren’t life-changing, but we enjoy them nonetheless):
