Hiya Papaya Photo a Day Challenge – FEBRUARY

Wow, can you guys believe that an entire MONTH of 2013 is already behind us?! I can’t believe how fast time goes by. Does that mean I’m getting older? ;)

The Photo a Day project has been a GREAT way for me to capture and document/journal my every day life through pictures. I even got them printed into a book for the months of November (our first challenge) and December. And I plan on printing January’s too. It makes me feel good because I feel like I’m journaling (which I am admittedly not the best at with paper and pen) – but in a fun way that I enjoy – through pictures!

Are you ready for FEBRUARY’S challenge list? This is a couple of days early, but it will give you some time to start thinking (if you’re a plan-ahead-type).

For those who have been participating and sharing on instagram with the hashtag #hiyapapayaphotoaday, we have had so much fun looking through your images. For those of you new to this, here’s how it works: Each day there will be a new theme. Interpret the word or theme however you’d like. You don’t have to have a fancy camera to do this project. I use my iphone. It’s just a chance to get everyone out taking pictures!

You can post and share your image wherever you’d like – your Facebook page, your blog, Twitter, Instagram, etc. If you do post them to Instagram with your iphone or ipad, be sure to tag them #hiyapapayaphotoaday. That way others can go look and see your photos! (Through this project, I have come to LOVE Instagram! It’s been SO MUCH FUN seeing everyone’s #hiyapapayaphotoaday hashtagged posts there! I’ve even made a couple of new friends!) Don’t stress if you miss a day – the point of this is to have FUN! Just try and jump in the next day.

This isn’t a contest. Just a fun way to get everyone out and capturing their world. It’s so fun and makes you more aware and really stretches your creative imagination.

I can’t wait to see what you all come up with during this “month of love!” XOXO

Four Chairs Furniture + Cadence Homes (Day 3)

The past three days, we have featured a tour of a beautiful home we photographed for designer Lindy Allen of Four Chairs Furniture. It’s a home she did for builders Cadence Homes in the 2012 Utah Valley Parade of Homes. It was SO FUN to photograph and has been super fun to share with all of you! On Day 1, we featured the bright and airy entry, family room, kitchen, dining room and laundry. Yesterday (Day 2), you got to see the mud room, den/office and master suite. And today we are finishing up the tour with pictures of the upstairs. This fun space was designed just for kids! You’ll see the family room space/teen hangout area, the two bedrooms and the kids bath. (And we’re including one last shot of the front door and entrance, just for kicks.) This home (and our photography) was also recently featured on the wildly popular design blog House of Turquoise. We are always honored to be guests there. :) We hope you have enjoyed! Thanks for reading and have the merriest Christmas and super holiday season!! Love, the hiyapapaya girls.

Four Chairs Furniture + Cadence Homes (Day 2)

Yesterday we started a 3 day home tour of this fantastic house we photographed for designer Lindy Allen of Four Chairs Furniture. She did it as a show home for builders Cadence Homes in the 2012 Utah Valley Parade of Homes. Didn’t you love the open, airy, bright feel of yesterday’s featured rooms: the entry, family room, kitchen, dining room and laundry? Today we take you through the den/office, the master suite and the mud room. Stay tuned tomorrow when we will finish up the tour with pictures of the upstairs. It’s a really fun space, designed just for kids! This home (and our photography) was also recently featured on the wildly popular design blog House of Turquoise. We are always honored to be guests there. :) Enjoy today’s post!
