September Nails

(Okay, is it just me or does anyone else, thanks to this blog title, now have the Guns N Roses song “November Rain” playing on repeat through their head? Or maybe it is just me because I am that old …)

Oy.

Now then … Remember this post I did about my nails a few months ago? I’m somewhat embarrassed to admit it’s been that long since I’ve gotten them done.  But at the same time, I’m somewhat pleased, as well, because it means I’ve had a busy and productive summer. ;) And the beauty of shellac is that the color was still on my toes! :) (And probably would have been on my fingers, too, had I not gotten impatient with the regrowth and picked it all off long ago …) I went back into The Clique today and visited my favorite nail tech Gina. If you guys are in the area and are hankering to get your nails done, PLEASE go check these gals out. They can do almost ANYTHING you want on your nails! It’s AMAZING!! I’m DYING over the black and white chevron stripes on my fingers and toes! And the turquoise and glitter and … le sigh! These were just too cute to not photograph and include here on the blog. Eh?

Happy nails equals happy … hmm, what rhymes with nails?  Snail? Bail? Kale?  Awww … forgetaboutit … happy nails equals happy ME!

Oh, and last but not least … don’t judge these pictures too critically … they were all taken with my cell phone. ;)

Longboarding down Provo Trail

If you’ve ever been a bridesmaid or gone to prom, you probably still have your dress. And what usually happens to it after prom and the wedding? You leave it sitting in your closet for, well, probably until you die. After being a bridesmaid for a friend recently and picking out a $200 dress (which she kindly paid for), and learning that my roommate had about FIVE bridesmaids dresses sitting in her closet, we decided it was time… Time to use our dresses to their full $200 potential! Because why only wear it once? That material is expensive! Surely it’ll last through hundreds of years of use at least. So the other day my roommates and I ‘bridesmaid-boarded’ down provo trail in our fancy dresses. And while boarding down, people smiled, everyone stared, a few guys called us “princesses”, others whistled, and the park ranger told us he’d seen a lot of things on the trail but that “we took first place”. So, kudos to us for taking 1st place in the, uh, wacko category–yeah!

Danielle & Chantz Wedding

One of my very favorite events to photograph was Jessica & Alex’ carnival-themed reception because 1) the decor was OOZING with creativity in every corner, and 2) I LOVE anything carnival-ish. The couple was also just really ‘cool to capture’, as you’ll notice in their engagement shoot. One of the creative minds behind their reception was Jessica’s sister, Danielle, so you can probably imagine how excited I was when asked to photograph her wedding! She is incredibly artistic. My favorite detail of the reception was the THIRTEEN GORGEOUS CAKES that Danielle made herself, and decorated with her aunt and mom! I think I drooled over that table as I photo’d it… Mm. Also, I was roommates a few months ago with Danielle and so I got to know her and Chantz a bit. I think they are adorable together! Congrats guys! Enjoy a little taste of their wedding day…
